Only 80 minutes’ drive from Perth CBD and with one of the highest peaks near the city at 240m of vertical elevation, this location is spectacular and perfect for mountian biking and hiking, with steep and moderate slopes, varied terrain, good soil types and bush. The mountains are minutes from town and can reached by bike.

Western Trails Alliance is working with the Shire of York on delivering two exciting projects:

The Mt Bakewell trail project could include multiple descending trails with a few climb trails. It is anticipated that  80% of the trails will be intermediate difficulty grading (dark Blue) and there will be advanced and expert trails (including double black diamond lines). The majority of intermediate riders will be comfortable on these trails, and the advanced lines will challenge expert riders. The trail project will use both private property and Shire managed reserves.

The Mt Brown trail project is seeking to progress and sanction the existing popular trails on Mt Brown which are regularly used for MTB events. The trails will likely include a range of Cross Country and Gravity options for all levels of riders.
